School Board Achieves Designation
2013 GSBA Quality School Board

MARIETTA, GA -The Board of Education of the City of Marietta recently earned designation as a 2013 Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) Quality School Board. The Quality School Board status recognizes best practices in school governance and leadership. The Board of Education of the City of Marietta met and or exceeded the criteria set forth by GSBA to earn designation as a 2013 Quality Board.

Graduate MariettaGeorgia school superintendents and board members developed the GSBA Governance Team Recognition Program based on the state board of education’s standards for effective governance to recognize exemplary school board leadership.  In 1998, the Georgia School Boards Association was one of the first school board associations in the nation to develop a program of standards for local boards of education.

The GSBA Board recognition program is a three-year, three-tiered program beginning with Quality Board status. For more information, visit the GSBA Web site to view the criteria for all tiers of the program.
