Marietta City Schools Earns Continuing
AdvancEd SACS CASI Accreditation

AdvancEDMARIETTA, GA - Marietta City Schools (MCS) today announced notification that it has earned continuing accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), an accreditation division of AdvancED. In October 2007, Marietta City Schools earned initial district accreditation as a quality school system from SACS CASI. District Accreditation is valid for five years and is the highest level of accreditation that a school system can receive from the SACS CASI organization.

“School System Accreditation as conferred by the AdvancED Accreditation Commission provides Marietta City Schools with a nationally-recognized mark of quality for our system and all the schools within our system,” states MCS Superintendent, Dr. Emily Lembeck. “This accreditation demonstrates to our students, parents and community that we are focused on raising student achievement, providing a safe and enriching learning environment, and maintaining an efficient and effective operation staffed by highly qualified educators, and supported by a collaborative and engaged school board.”
